SPLIT PEA HUMMUS
1 cup                    yellow split peas
3 cups                  water 
1 clove                 garlic 
2 tablespoons   sesame seeds 
4+ tablespoons olive oil 
1                             lime [zest and juice] 
½ teaspoon        cumin 
                                salt
_ bring water to a boil  
_ mince garlic  
_ add garlic and peas to the water and bring to a boil  
_ reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes [until just tender]  
_ roast sesame seeds [until they turn color and smell delicious]  
_ drain peas  
_ combine peas, sesame seeds, olive oil, lime [zest+juice], cumin and a pinch salt in a bowl  
_ puree with a mixer or food processor until it gets a smooth consistency [add more olive oil or water if needed]  
_ season with salt to taste  
_ serve drizzled with olive oil

1 Zehe           Knoblauch
2 Esslöffel    Sesamkörner 
4+ Esslöffel Olivenöl 
1                      Limette [Schale und Saft] 
½ Teelöffel  Kreuzkümmel
