Kernlestee is something very Austrian – or at least I have never seen it anywhere else. If you don’t feel like scraping out seeds from wild rose buds – washing them thoroughly and drying them for hours – you can just buy them!
This almost forgotten medicinal tea is often drunken with bladder infections, for blood purification and against colds. It has a slight taste of vanilla – but entirely unique. The seeds contain a lot of vanillin, silicic acid and oil.
