Tacos are a great ‘do it yourself’ food. Just serve the ingredients in small dishes and everybody can fill their taco to their liking. And don’t forget the napkins – this is gonna get super messy!

This recipe lists toppings I like on my tacos, as well as a seasoning mix for ground beef and a lovely avocado-lime cream that gives everything a fresh touch. Time to put the margarita on ice – this is going to be a feast!

  • 8-10 hard corn taco shells
  • salad
  • tomatoes
  • bell pepper
  • red onion
  • mozzarella cheese
  • coriander
  • 350g ground beef
  • 0.5 cups water
  • 1.5 teaspoons chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons paprika powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime [juice]
  • 3 tablespoons avocado oil [olive oil is fine too]
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • pepper

_ finely chop salad, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and mozzarella cheese

_ for the avocado lime cream, halve the avocado and scoop out the flesh

_ add lime juice, oil, salt and pepper

_ blend with an immersion blender

_ season to your liking with more salt and pepper

_ for the meat heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a pan

_ in a small bowl combine all spices well

_ fry the ground beef until all has turned color

_ season with 2 teaspoons mixed spices and add the water

_ stir well until most of the water has evaporated

_ season with more spice mix if needed

_ fill the tacos to your liking, starting with the meat and toping it off with avocado lime cream and roughly chopped cilantro

_ now it’s time to get messy and enjoy your home made tacos
