SOUR CREAM SOUP

Another Austrian curiosity – Rahmsuppe. I used to hate it as a kid because whenever I was sick my mother made me eat this soup. Now that I can eat it voluntarily I grew to really like it. Due to it being mainly water and caraway it’s easy to digest. And the sour cream, salt and potato make you strong again. :)

SOUR CREAM SOUP

  • 1 liter water
  • 400g potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon caraway
  • 200g sour cream
  • dry dark bread crumbs [optional]

_ peel potatoes and cut into 5mm thick slices

_ bring water to a boil

_ season with salt and caraway

_ put in potatoes [cook until soft]

The potatoes are an addition I know only from my mothers family side. 

_ mix in sour cream

_ serve with bread crumbsfox_rahmsuppe2
