BRAISED RED CABBAGE

December 22, 2014

22nd December!

This years christmas dinner plans include everybody cooking a small dish. A bit like a thanks-giving dinner. Since our family is spread over multiple countries we thought it would be nice if everybody made something traditional to their country. So we gonna have an American-Dutch-Austrian christmas dinner table.

One of the most traditional Austrian things you can get for christmas is some kind of chicken or duck with red cabbage! Besides having an impressive purple color [that stains everything by the way] it has a lovely sweet and sour taste that goes great with game!
