I don’t get why popcorn had to be so oily and super salty. I recently discovered that those microwave popcorn bags are for nothing. You can just use your own paper bag [as long as you don’t staple it shut! remember microwave = no metal] and season the popcorn to your liking. Even without salt it makes a great snack. 


  • 0.25 cups popcorn kernels [0.25 cup will give about 8 cups popped]

_ put popcorn kernels into a brown paper lunch bag 

_ fold top over a couple of times 

_ place bottom up in the microwave

_ set for 3min

_ take bag out when pops slow down to a few seconds between them

_ open up

_ let steam escape

_ choose one of the seasonings below 

kettle corn

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

parmesan corn

  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese [grated]
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter [melted]
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

chili lime corn

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 0.25 teaspoons chili powder
  • salt and ground pepper to taste

_ put spices into the bag

_ shake well

Start the movie!
