Another yummy recipe made with the plums from my very own plum tree! This recipe works with all kinds of fruit – peaches, apricots, … – but plums are the best. Cinnamon and clove are typical plum spices, so if you go for a different fruit you might want to change up the spices.
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 200g flour
  • half package baking powder
  • 1 package vanilla sugar
  • pinch cinnamon
  • pinch clove powder
  • plums
_ grease a baking pan
_ preheat oven to 170°C
_ wash plums, cut in half and remove stone
_ whisk butter [room temperature], sugar, eggs and vanilla sugar until foamy
_ add flour and baking powder
_ spice with a pinch cinnamon and about half as much clove powder
_ spread batter evenly in the baking pan [will be rather hard to spread]
_ place plums cut side up onto the batter [press a little into the batter]
_ bake for about 30 minutes [until fruit is juicy and cake a light brown]
