There are a few spices I would not wanna live without. Lemongrass is definitely one of them. Already the smell when preparing something with lemongrass makes me happy. It goes great with sweet and savory dishes. Or just by itself as a syrup. 


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 stalks lemongrass

_ dissolve sugar

_ crush lemongrass stalks with the back of a kitchen knife

_ add lemongrass to the sugar water

_ simmer for 10min

_ remove heat and cool

_ strain syrup into jars

_ cover and keep in the refrigerator
