ITALIEN PEAR ALMOND CAKE

For all those who don’t like too complicated recipes. All you need is one bowl where you keep adding ingredients.
It’s a moist and flavourful cake that is whipped up in no time.

ITALIEN PEAR ALMOND CAKE

  • 125g [½ cup] butter [room temperature]
  • 125g [½ cup] sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 50g [⅓ cup] flour
  • 100g ground almonds
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 small ripe pears
  • 50g sliced almonds

_ preheat oven to 180°C [375°F]
_ grease a springform pan [line the bottom with a parchment paper]
_ peel, core and cut pears in half
_ beat butter and sugar together
_ add eggs and beat will
_ fold in flour, ground almonds and baking powder
_ spoon batter into the baking pan
_ arrange pear halves [cut side down] in a circle on top of the cake [press them in slightly]


_ bake for 25 minutes


_ sprinkle with almond slices and bake for another 8-10 minutes [until a skewer inserted comes out clean]
_ leave to cool to room temperature
