Snack time! Chickpeas make for a great snack! Roasted chickpeas are super easy to make and you can change the flavor to your liking. Savory with salt and spices like chili, cumin or rosemary. Sweet with sugar and cinnamon or nutmeg. It takes a little time to get them just right and not burn them into tiny black marbles. But once you figured out how hot your oven needs to be – go and get started on some seasoning experiments.


  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chili powder


_ preheat oven to 190°C

_ drain chickpeas

_ pad them dry [try to get them as dry as possible]

_ in a bowl mix chickpeas and oil with a pinch salt, pepper and chili

_ line a baking sheet with aluminum foil

_ spread chickpeas so all of them touch the foil


_ sprinkle with more seasoning [try to cover them evenly]

_ bake for about 30 minutes [toss once ore twice]

[if you have small chickpeas they might just need 20-25min, large ones 30-35min]

_ let them cool slightly before snacking

[if you want to store them wait until they are completely cold before you cover them – otherwise they will get moist and soggy]
