CINNAMON ROLLS

Everything is better with cinnamon and there can never ever be too much cinnamon! The recipe gives about 15 cinnamon rolls. So if you are not having a big dessert party do yourself a favor and try half the amount.

CINNAMON ROLLS

  • 4 cups flour
  • 0.5 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 0.3 cups melted butter
  • 1 cups milk
  • 0.5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • good pinch salt 
  • 0.25 cups butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 0.25 cups butter [room temperature]
  • 1.25 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons vanilla

_ melt butter in warm milk

_ mix all dry ingredients in a bowl

_ gradually add wet ingredients and form a soft [slightly sticky] dough

_ let rise in a warm place [1 to 1.5 hours]

_ for the filling beat butter until creamy

_ mix in sugar and cinnamon until well combined

_ punch dough and roll until half a cm thick [try to get it as rectangular as possible]

_ spread cinnamon mixture over the dough

_ roll up lengthwisefox_cinnamonrolls

_ cut into 2cm thick piecesfox_cinnamonrollsfox_cinnamonrolls

_ place rolls into a pan and let rise for 30 minutesfox_cinnamonrolls

_ preheat oven to 190°C

_ bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brownfox_cinnamonrolls

_ for the icing beat the cream cheese, vanilla and butter and gradually add the sugar

_ drizzle frosting over the rolls while still warm
