Spicy popsicles? Sounds weird but tastes delicious! And it’s great to see the surprised faces of your guests.
It’s a bit tricky to get the seasoning right. You don’t want your tong burning off. It helps to have the fruit mixture steep a while until the chilli takes full effect before reasoning.
CHILLI MANGO POPSICLES
_ dice mango and place in a bowl
_ add mango nectar, orange juice and lime juice
_ season with cinnamon and chilli powder [amount of chilli depends on how spicy you like it and what kind of chilli powder you have]
_ stir well
_ season to taste with more cinnamon, chilli and lime
_ spoon mixture into popsicle moulds [leave about ½ cm free on top]
_ cover and insert popsicle sticks
_ freeze until popsicles are completely frozen [about 4 hours]
_ turn mould upside-down and run warm water over it to release the popsicles
_ pull them straight up and enjoy immediately
[store them longer in the freezer by either leaving them in the moulds or folding them individually into sandwich paper or baking sheets]
